A rare cap of a Red Army infantry general in good condition. The cap is made of high-quality woolen fabric. The crown is sewn from merino castor in the color "sea wave". A metal enamel cockade is mounted on the rim. The band is made of red cloth and embroidered with gold embroidery. The sewing pattern consists of two laurel branches diverging from the center. The large stems and leaves of laurel branches are embroidered with gilded frills, and the small leaves are formed from gilded sequins sewn with a thread with gilded frills. Along the upper edge of the band has a red cloth edging, similar to the red cloth edging on the crown of the cap. The visor is fiber, black, with double-sided varnishing. Above the visor there is a twisted gilded filigree cord in two rows, attached at the ends to two small metal buttons. Each button depicts the coat of arms of the USSR with eleven ribbons of the Soviet republics. The lining of the cap is silk, without stamps, the band is made of soft brown leather. The original gold embroidery and filigree cord are well preserved, there are only minor darkening. Cockade and buttons in original gilding. It was introduced by the decision of the Main Quartermaster Department of the Red Army No. 1412 in April 1945. Abolished for generals and marshals of aviation and tank troops by order of the Minister of the Armed Forces of the USSR dated February 24, 1949, for all others by order of the Minister of Defense of the USSR No. 94 dated June 10, 1954.
