Steel, frosty silver plating. The lot consists of three GVF birds on twists. All the emblems are in almost perfect condition. Extremely rare. They belonged to the founder of Russian civil aviation, V.Y. Jungmeister, and were acquired directly from his family. Guarantee of authenticity.
Vasily Yulievich Jungmeister (November 11, 1889, Nizhny Novgorod - February 10, 1938, Kommunarka) was a Russian and Soviet military pilot, military commander, brigade commander, and one of the founders of civil aviation in the USSR. Since May 1918, Vasily Jungmeister has been the head of the organizational department of the Moscow Military District Air Fleet Management Board and the Assistant Chief of the Moscow Air Defense for Aviation. At the 2nd All-Russian Aviation Congress in June 1918, he was elected a member of the All-Russian Air Fleet Council. Since June 1918, he has been Military Commissar of the Moscow Military District Air Fleet Directorate, representative of the Main Air Fleet in Ukraine. From September 1918, he was the head of the Aviation and Aeronautics Department of the Northern Front headquarters, from June 1919 - the Western Front, and from April 1920 - the Turkestan Front. For the Bukhara offensive operation, as head of the air fleet of the Turkestan Front, he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner (RVSR Order No. 260, 1925). From October 1920, he was chief of the Air Fleet of the Southern Front. Since February 1921, he has been the head and Military Commissar of the Air Fleet Directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Crimea. Since September 1922, he has been the head and military commissar of the Air Fleet Directorate of the Ukrainian Military District.In 1933, he became the head of the All-Union Aerogeodesia Aerial Survey Trust. Since July 1935, he has been the head of the Aeromechanical Faculty of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. He studied at the Leningrad Institute of Civil Aviation. In July 1936, he was returned to the Red Army cadre and appointed head of the Moscow Territorial Directorate of the Civil Air Fleet (MTU GVF). On November 26, 1936 (by order of the NCO of the USSR No. 1916), he was awarded the military rank of brigade commander. He was discharged in 1937. He was arrested on October 4, 1937. On February 9, 1938, the Supreme Soviet of the USSR was sentenced to death by firing squad. On February 10, the sentence was carried out. He was buried in a common grave in a communal apartment. He was rehabilitated on April 28, 1956 by the Supreme Soviet of the USSR for lack of corpus delicti.
