1. "They Fought for the Motherland" is a Soviet film by Sergei Bondarchuk based on the novel of the same name by Mikhail Sholokhov. The best film according to the survey of the magazine "Soviet Screen" in 1976. Filming took place from May to October 1974 in the Volgograd region. In 1977, he was awarded the State Prize of the RSFSR named after the Vasiliev brothers.


2. Vasily Makarovich Shukshin (July 25, 1929, village of Srostki, Biysk district, Altai Krai — October 2, 1974, Stanitsa Kletskaya, Volgograd Region) was a Soviet film director, actor, screenwriter and writer, Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1969). Laureate of the Lenin Prize (1976 — posthumously), the State Prize of the USSR (1971) and the State Prize of the RSFSR named after the Vasiliev brothers (1967). In the film he played the role of P.F. Lopakhin.


3. Georgy Ivanovich Burkov (nee. — Burkov; May 31, 1933, Perm — July 19, 1990, Moscow) — Soviet theater and film actor, film director, screenwriter; Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1980). In the film he played the role of Private Alexander Kopytovsky.
