The devil's barracks is the unofficial name of one of the slum districts of Chelyabinsk. The name of this area is the fruit of a rich folk fantasy. Evil spirits have nothing to do with it. Geographically, the Damn barracks are tied to Kolupayevka. This is a settlement of bricklayers who arrived in Chelyabinsk to build a railway station and bridges. They settled in dugouts near Kolupayevka, drank a lot and had fun, scaring passers-by. Civilians were afraid of visiting strangers like hell. Here's a second, more romantic version for you. The name "Damn barracks" happened on the occasion of one Kolbin working for a contractor. This worker had a rough voice and when he walked through the forest to the barracks, he sang loudly. His songs echoed throughout the forest. The people called him the devil for his loud bass, and the barracks where he lived in a dugout began to bear the name of the devils.
