Alexander Nikolaevich Sidorovich (January 5, 1924, Maslogostitsy, Petrograd province — March 27, 1957, Leningrad) was a lieutenant colonel in the Soviet Army, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, Hero of the Soviet Union (1946). Alexander Sidorovich was born on January 5, 1924 in the village of Maslogostitsy (now the Pskov district of the Pskov region). He graduated from seven grades of school and an aeroclub. In 1941, Sidorovich was drafted to serve in the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. In 1943, he graduated from the Bataisk Military Aviation School of Pilots. Since September of the same year, he served on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. By November 1944, Guards Lieutenant Alexander Sidorovich was a pilot of the 79th Guards Assault Aviation Regiment (2nd Guards Assault Aviation Division of the 16th Air Army, 1st Belorussian Front). By that time, he had made 102 combat sorties to attack enemy concentrations of military equipment and manpower, inflicting heavy losses on him, and personally shot down 2 enemy aircraft. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 15, 1946, Guard Lieutenant Alexander Sidorovich was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal. After the end of the war, he continued to serve in the Soviet Army. Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Sidorovich died suddenly on March 27, 1957, and was buried at the Shuvalov cemetery.
