Boris Nikolaevich Tikhonov (1922, Labinskaya village, Krasnodar Territory — 1972, Krasnodar) was a participant in the Great Patriotic War, captain of the Guard, Hero of the Soviet Union (1946). He was awarded seven orders of the USSR and many medals. He was born on May 17, 1922, in the village of Labinskaya, now in the Krasnodar Territory, into a working-class family. In 1938, he graduated from Taganrog School No. 2 named after A. P. Chekhov[2]. After completing two courses at the Taganrog Aviation College and the aero Club in 1940, he entered the Chkalov Military Aviation School of Pilots. He participated in the Great Patriotic War since August 1943. Flight commander of the 175th Guards Assault Aviation Regiment (11th Guards Assault Aviation Division, 16th Air Army, 1st Belorussian Front), Senior Lieutenant. He flew more than 120 combat sorties to attack the enemy. Member of the CPSU since 1945. In 1951 he graduated from the Krasnodar Higher Officer School of navigators. Since 1956, Captain Tikhonov has been in reserve. He lived in Krasnodar. He died on October 17, 1972. He was buried in Krasnodar at the Slavyansk cemetery.
