History

Alexander Zakhrovich Nosovets (June 12 [25], 1915, Solovyovka village, Chernihiv province — August 5, 2003, Moscow) was a Hero of the Soviet Union (1944), colonel (1957), military navigator 1st class (1951).


He was born on June 12 (25), 1915 in the village of Solovyovka, Novozybkovsky district, Chernihiv province. In 1934, he graduated from the 7th grade of a school in the village of Kurshanovichi (Klimovsky district), in 1937 he graduated from the Smolensk Commodity Science College. He worked as an instructor in the personnel department at the Smolensk Regional Consumer Union. In the army since November 1938. In 1940 he graduated from the Kharkov Military Aviation College. He served as a navigator in the Air Force combat units (in the Belarusian and Kiev military districts).


Participant of the Great Patriotic War: in June-July 1941 — navigator of the crew of the 226th high-speed Bomber Aviation Regiment (Southwestern Front). Participated in defensive battles in Western Ukraine. He flew 13 combat missions on a Su-2 bomber. On July 2, 1941, he was seriously wounded in his right leg and was hospitalized until October 1941. From October 1941, he served in the Air Force as a navigator of an air squadron (in the Volga Military District).


In August 1942 — May 1945 — flight navigator, navigator of the aviation squadron and deputy navigator of the 16th (from March 1943 - 14th Guards) Long—range Aviation Regiment (4th Guards Long-range Aviation Corps). He flew 235 night sorties on a B-25C bomber to strike military-industrial facilities deep behind enemy lines, as well as to deliver supplies to the partisans, units of the People's Liberation Army of Yugoslavia and the partisans of Czechoslovakia. During the war, he flew a total of 248 combat missions (13 on a Su—2 bomber and 235 on a B-25C bomber).


By Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated November 5, 1944, Major Nosovets Alexander Zakharovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal.


After the war, he served as a navigator of long-range aviation regiments until December 1947. In 1948, he graduated from the Ivanovo Higher Officer Flight Tactical School of Long-range Aviation. He was a navigator of aviation regiments in Long—range aviation, and since 1955 he has been a navigator of the heavy bombardment aviation division (in Ukraine). Since September 1958, Colonel A. Z. Nosovets has been in reserve. In 1959-1985, he worked as a supervisor and employee at the 148th Belotserkovsky Aircraft Repair Plant. He lived in the city of Bila Tserkva, Kiev region (Ukraine), since 1994 — in Moscow. He died on August 5, 2003. He was buried at the Butovo Cemetery in Moscow.
