History

Fyodor Fyodorovich Stepanov (9.4.1913 — 11/13/1986) — commander of the 1st Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment of the 23rd Heavy Bomber Aviation Division of Long-range Bomber Aviation, captain. Hero of the Soviet Union. He was born on April 9, 1913, in the village of Saki, into a working-class family. Russian. Member of the CPSU since 1942. Secondary education. He worked in the Sevastopol City Committee of the Komsomol. He served in the Red Army since 1932. In 1933, he graduated from the Kachin Military School of Pilots. He participated in the liberation campaign of Soviet troops in Ukraine and Western Belarus in 1939, the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-1940. In the battles of the Great Patriotic War since June 1941. By January 1942, Captain Fyodor Stepanov, commander of the 1st Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment, candidate for membership of the CPSU(b), had carried out 142 combat sorties to bombard important targets and destroy enemy manpower and equipment.
