Vladimir Alexandrovich Khoroshilov (July 15, 1911 — August 7, 1988) was a Soviet military pilot, Major General of aviation, participant in the Soviet-Finnish and Great Patriotic Wars. Hero of the Soviet Union (1940). He was born in Odessa into a working-class family. He graduated from two courses of the Faculty of Labor. He was a Komsomol worker. In the Red Army since 1932. In 1933, he graduated from the military school of pilots, and in 1936 from the military school of flight commanders (now the Borisoglebsk Aviation Training Center named after V. P. Chkalov). In 1938, he joined the CPSU(b). He took part in the Soviet-Finnish War, and was a flight commander of the 48th high-speed Bomber Aviation Regiment of the 18th Bomber Aviation Brigade of the 7th Army of the Northwestern Front. I flew on the SB plane. He flew 45 combat missions to bombard enemy troops and defensive lines. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 21, 1940, Senior Lieutenant Khoroshilov was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union for his exemplary performance of command combat missions and his bravery and heroism. Soon Khoroshilov was promoted to the rank of captain, and he was appointed deputy commander of a high-speed bomber aviation regiment. Participated in the Great Patriotic War since June 1941. He fought on the Southern, Southwestern, Transcaucasian, 2nd Ukrainian and 4th Ukrainian fronts. After the war, he continued to serve in the Armed Forces of the USSR. In 1950, he graduated from Officer Training Courses. In 1970, Khoroshilov joined the reserve with the rank of Major General. He lived in Kiev and worked as a senior engineer at the State Security Service of the Ukrainian SSR. He died on August 7, 1988. He was buried in Kiev at the Baykov cemetery.
