Ivan Ivanovich Datsenko (Ukrainian: Ivan Ivanovich Datsenko, November 29, 1918, Chernechy Yar, Poltava province, Ukrainian state — April 19, 1944, Lviv region) was a deputy commander of the aviation squadron of the 10th Guards Aviation Regiment of the 3rd Guards Aviation Dnepropetrovsk Long—range Division, captain of the Guards, Hero of the Soviet Union. He was born into a family of representatives of the Cossack class of the Poltava province, according to the legislation of the Ukrainian SSR, he is registered as a Ukrainian. He studied at an elementary secondary school in the village of Velikiye Budishche. In 1937 he graduated from Pisarevshchinsky veterinary College. In September 1937, he was drafted into the Red Army. In 1940, he joined the CPSU(b) and graduated from the Chkalov Military Aviation School of Pilots. From June 22, 1941, he participated in the battles of the Great Patriotic War. He bombed military-industrial facilities deep in the rear of Nazi Germany. He took part in the Battle of Stalingrad. On June 22, 1942, a unit under the command of I. I. Datsenko destroyed an enemy airfield near Orel. At the end of the battle, I. I. Datsenko's plane was shot down and caught fire. The pilot sent the plane to the front line, did everything to save the crew, and was the last to leave the burning plane. On June 26, 1942, I. I. Datsenko was seriously wounded in the leg. By August 1943, I. I. Datsenko had 213 combat sorties to bomb military-industrial facilities and enemy troops. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated September 18, 1943, he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal. On April 19, 1944, during the bombing of the Lviv-2 railway station, I. I. Datsenko's plane was shot down, his navigator G. I. Bezobrazov, radio operator Svetlov, began.The political department Zavirokhin died. In the report of the Personnel Department of the 3rd Guards Long-range Aviation Division to the Personnel Department of the NGO dated 05/09/1944, No. 0364, it is stated that the deputy AE Commander I. I. Datsenko, flight navigator G. I. Bezobrazov, and Deputy Chief of the Political Department N. A. Zavirokhin did not return from combat missions on the night of 04/19/1944. By Order No. 01957 of the Main Personnel Directorate of the People's Commissariat of Defense of the USSR dated 06/17/1944, I. I. Datsenko was excluded from the lists of the Red Army.
