Severyan Petrovich Timofeev (August 28, 1913, Kunilovo, Tver Province — June 22, 1974, Tosno, Leningrad Region) was a participant in the Great Patriotic War, navigator of the squadron of the 340th Breslau Long—range Aviation Regiment of the 54th Oryol Long-range Aviation Division of the 4th Guards Bomber Aviation Corps, captain. Hero of the Soviet Union.
He was born into a peasant family. In the autumn of 1926, he and his family moved to Leningrad. He graduated from the fifth grade at school No. 112 at the Nevsky Lavra, then studied at the factory apprenticeship school. From the age of 17 he worked as a metal turner at the Voroshilov and Bolshevik factories. In 1935, Timofeev entered the aviation school. In the Soviet-Finnish War of 1939-1940, he was an aerial gunner and radio operator. During the Great Patriotic War, he flew 306 combat missions, in which he received one serious and four minor wounds. On June 29, 1945, Captain Timofeev Severyan Petrovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. In August 1945, he took part in the Soviet-Japanese War. Since 1948, Timofeev has been in reserve. He lived in Tosno, Leningrad region. Since 1952, he worked as the head of the Tosnensky hunting farm of the Leningrad Voluntary Society of Hunters. He died on June 22, 1974. He was buried at the city cemetery in Tosno.
