Three commendations to Junior Sergeant P. S. Bogdanov, 1945

The lot includes three uncut thank-you notes.:

• Top gratitude: Order No. 228 of January 18, 1945. It was declared for the capture of Polish cities and communication hubs — Sochachev, Skierniewice and Lovich. These cities were important German defense strongholds on the way to Berlin. 


• Lower right thanks: Order No. 243 of January 22, 1945. Issued for the capture of the city Gniezen (Gniezno) was an important junction of railways and highways that covered the approaches to Poznan. 


• Lower left thanks: Order No. 266 of January 31, 1945. He notes excellent military operations during the invasion of the Brandenburg province and the capture of the cities of Landsberg, Meseritz, Schwibus and Züllichau. The text indicates that these points covered the approaches to Frankfurt an der Oder.

These documents were awarded to soldiers for participating in the largest operations of the final stage of the Great Patriotic War. At that time (January 1945), the Vistula-Oder offensive operation was taking place.
