On May 11, 1939, during training camps, Heroes of the Soviet Union, pilot Polina Osipenko and the head of the main flight inspection of the Red Army Air Force, Anatoly Serov, died. Their UTI-4 plane crashed near the village of Vysokoe in the Ryazan region. Polina Denisovna was 31 years old, and Anatoly Konstantinovich was only 29.
