On September 11, 1938, at six o'clock in the morning, the Gorky radius of the Moscow Metro opened in the capital. Six beautiful stations, which set a new standard in underground architecture, opened their doors to passengers. Cast-iron tubing in the lining of tunnels and stations, ubiquitous panel sinking (a total of 42 panels worked on the second stage), new finishing materials and more advanced engineering systems. And, of course, new architectural solutions in the Art Deco style, a prototype of the future elements of the Stalinist Empire of post-war stations. There was something to be proud of and something to be happy about — Moscow received six beautiful stations, and the length of the lines increased by 8.5 kilometers. One of the open stations was Mayakovskaya, a pearl of underground architecture and engineering art.
