Sergey Semenovich Biryuzov (August 5 (18), 1905 (according to official data, August 8 (21), 1904 — October 19, 1964) was a Soviet military commander, Marshal of the Soviet Union (03/11/1955), Hero of the Soviet Union (02/01/1958). Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the USSR (1963-1964). Member of the Central Committee of the CPSU (1961-1964).
