Nina Nikolaevna Vatolina (March 6 (19), 1915, Kolomna, Russian Empire — August 12, 2002, Moscow, Russia) was a Russian painter, graphic artist, poster artist, writer. She was born in a military family, her father's grandfather was an official, a nobleman. My father was repressed in July 1937. In 1932-1936 she studied at the Moscow Art College at OGIZ, took lessons from the graphic artist Victor Denis. In the prewar period, she executed several posters in collaboration with her husband, the son of Viktor Denis, graphic artist Nikolai Viktorovich Denisov: "KIM. 20 years of the Komsomol" (1938), "All power in the USSR belongs to the workers of the city and village" (1939), "Long live May 1!" (1939). In collaboration with N. Denisov, poster artists V. and Z. Pravdin participated in the creation of a poster about childhood "Thank you to Comrade Stalin for a happy childhood!" (1938). In 1939, she executed a poster "Thank you to my native Stalin for a happy childhood!". In 1942 she graduated from MII (a student of A. A. Deineka, G. G. Ryazhsky).

During the Great Patriotic War, together with Nikolai Denisov, she created the well-known poster "Don't talk!" (1941), printed in millions of copies. During the war, Vatolina created famous posters: "Fascism is the worst enemy of women. All for the fight against fascism!", "Citizens of the Soviet Union, hand over warm clothes for the Red Army, bravely fighting fascist gangs!", "More bread for the front and rear. Harvest completely!", "Glory to the mother heroine!", "For our great Motherland!" (1944), "Comrade fighter, remember!" (1945), "Wait with victory" (1945), "We are waiting with victory!" (1945), "You bravely fought with the enemy — enter, master, into a new house!" (1945), "Hello, motherland!" (1945).

After the end of the Great Patriotic War, she continued working on posters, creating political and social posters: "Long live the national candidate for deputies of the Supreme Soviet of S. S. S. R. the great Stalin!", "Stalin is our first candidate for deputies of the Supreme Soviet of S. S. S. R." (1946), "Thank you to Stalin for a happy childhood!" (1950), "Long live the great party of Lenin-Stalin, mind, honor and conscience of our era!" (1952), "To school!", "To life — to reason and light!" (1950), "Pioneer is a good comrade" (1950), "Welcome!" (1956), "Teacher is a friend and mentor of our children!"(1956), "Let the kindergarten surround the children with love in every collective farm!" (1958), "Mothers work, labor is disputed — collective farm nurseries take care of children" (1958), "The pioneer loves to work and protects the people's good" (1960) and many others.

Nina Vatolina created hundreds of popular posters that were included in the golden fund of Soviet propaganda art. She took part in All-Union exhibitions, in 1957 and 1968 Vatolina's solo exhibitions were held in Moscow. Nina Vatolina's works are kept in museums in Russia and abroad, in private Russian and foreign private galleries and collections. She was buried in Moscow at the Rogozhsky Cemetery.
