Alexey Alekseevich Kokorekin (1906-1959) was a Soviet graphic artist. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1956). Winner of two Stalin Prizes (1946, 1949). He died of smallpox, starting an outbreak of smallpox in Moscow in 1959. A. A. Kokorekin was born on March 17 (30), 1906 in the Armenian city of Yeghegnik (now Sarykamysh in Turkey). In 1927-1929 he studied at the Kuban Art and Pedagogical College. Since 1929 in Moscow. He executed thematic paintings, illustrations, landscapes. He is known mainly as a poster artist. In his political posters, he embodied the courageous, strong-willed characters of Soviet people, turned to large-scale images and picturesque (sometimes close to easel) color solutions. In 1941-1943, he was an artist of the Military Publishing House at the PU of the Red Army, since 1943 — the M. B. Grekov Art Institute. Participated in the release of "Windows of TASS".
