Viktor Semyonovich Ivanov (1909-1968) was a Soviet artist. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1955). Winner of two Stalin Prizes (1946, 1949). Born on October 29 (November 11), 1909 in Moscow. In 1926-1929 he studied at the School of Fine Arts in memory of 1905 at E. Yakuba. In 1928-1929 Classes in the studio of D. N. Kardovsky. In 1929-1933 he studied in Leningrad at the Academy of Fine Arts with M. P. Bobyshov, B. V. Dubrovsky-Eshke, N. E. Radlov. He mainly worked on propaganda and political posters. In 1941-1943 — in the "Windows of TASS". The best posters are distinguished by journalistic passion, specific disclosure of the topic. He also worked in the field of easel painting. Designed movies. Corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1958). He died on November 26, 1968 in Moscow. He was buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery (plot No. 34).
