The pistol consists of a box, a barrel, a capsule lock, a trigger with a trigger mask, a trigger guard. The barrel of the pistol has a slightly conical shape, in the breech (about a quarter of the length of the trunk) of an irregular octagonal shape, in the rest of the trunk of a circular cross-section. In the breech from the top right there is a tide with a threaded hole for installing a brand pipe. The breech bolt has an elongated shank, with a hole for the mounting screw. the barrel bore is smooth. Sighting devices are a front sight mounted at the muzzle, and a slotted rear sight placed on top of the breech of the barrel. On the breech of the barrel there is a number of poorly readable stamps of the inspection acceptance, as well as the number of the weapon No. 3309, the image of a double – headed eagle in a circle and the date of manufacture of the barrel-1845.
The capsule lock was installed instead of the flint lock in the early 1850s and is fixed in the bed with a screw screwed into the threaded hole of the triangular keyhole. The barrel is attached to the front of the box by means of a brass ring. The trigger guard and the handle shank are also made of brass. The lock consists of a key board, a mainspring, a trigger, a trigger axis with a leash, a trigger lever and a bridle. Combat spring "V" shaped, its long shoulder is placed in the upper part of the key board and acts on the trigger axis through the leash. The trigger axis is fixed in the firing position by the protrusion of the trigger lever. When the trigger lever is pressed, the sear releases the trigger axis, which, due to the mainspring, strikes the capsule placed on the brand tube. The capsule will ignite the powder charge in the barrel — a shot occurs. The trigger has a slightly deepened shock part to prevent the scattering of fragments of the capsule and protect the shooter's eyes. The trigger spoke is straight with a diamond-shaped notch on the front side. The firing part of the trigger is shifted to the left relative to the plane of the key board. On the key board, the manufacturer's brands are lost.
The bed is wooden, has cutouts in order to place the barrel of the pistol, the lock, the key and trigger disguises, the shank of the breech bolt, the butt of the handle, the locking ring of the barrel. Locking barrel ring (the holder) is made of brass. The ring is held by a plate fixed in the left part of the forearm. The brass parts of the weapon have the date of manufacture of the product – 1845 and the letter "F". A brass medallion with the monogram of Emperor Nicholas I is mounted on the handle (1825-1855).
satisfactory, minor traces of corrosion on the metal parts of the weapon, repair of the trigger guard.
For a long time, the Cossacks ' firearms could not be practically standardized. This was due to the fact that the Cossacks were equipped, equipped and armed at their own expense, as well as the fact that the Cossack units consisted of a large number of weapons of outdated models, which were operated until they were completely worn out. Established in 1839, the model of a pistol for the lower ranks of the Cossack troops was actually a modification of the pistol of the 1809 model with a barrel shortened by about 1 inch and with a short forearm ending at about half the length of the barrel. An iron rear sight with a slot was added to the breech of the barrel. The front sight was located further from the practical section than in the 1809 sample of the barrel and above the brass, the front sight is located further from the barrel. As a rule, the pistols of the 1839 model that have survived to this day are converted weapons of earlier releases.
