Mikhail Alexandrovich Zichi or Mihai Zichi (1827-1906) was a Hungarian draughtsman and painter from the noble family of Zichi, who worked a lot in Russia. Almost at the beginning of his stay in Russia, shortly after the suppression of the Hungarian uprising of 1849, Zichi, who had lost lessons from the daughters of Grand Duchess Elena Pavlovna and a significant part of his orders, was forced to turn to a new technique for himself - lithography. He created a suite of lithographs called "Caucasian Scenes". The history of the creation of these scenes is interesting: in the early 1850s, at the height of the war in the Caucasus, Zichi asked permission to go there. He was refused by the Emperor.
