A.Dementyev. August from Revel (1970). This small book contains stories and poems dedicated to the life and work of Mikhail Ivanovich Kalinin. Among the outstanding communists of our country, fearless soldiers of the Revolution, Kalinin's name is always called one of the first. Not only because Mikhail Ivanovich was a prominent statesman, but also because he was in many ways similar to Vladimir Ilyich Lenin: his simplicity and wisdom, inexhaustible energy and communist conviction. Mikhail Ivanovich, on Lenin's recommendation, became Chairman of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee after the death of Y. M. Sverdlov. The people called Kalinin "the all—Union headman" - he found the right and right word for every person. And he always reminded pioneers and schoolchildren with whom Mikhail Ivanovich had a strong friendship: study, do not waste a single minute for this. Without deep knowledge, he said, it is impossible to become a real communist.
