The banner of the 1900 model consisted of two parts — the obverse and the reverse. Each side was a single-piece fabric. The obverse of the banner depicted the image of the Savior Not Made with Hands, on the reverse — the imperial monogram. In the corners on both sides there were images of the small state coat of arms (a double-headed eagle). The field of the banner in the army units was white, the colors of the border, trim and sewing repeated the colors of the regiment's uniforms. The white banner with light blue trim and gold embroidery belonged to the second regiment of the army Infantry division. Belonging to a specific unit was indicated on the banner bracket attached to the shaft.
During the tragic events of 1914 and 1915, when many units retreated and found themselves surrounded, soldiers and officers always tried to save their banners. The basic principle was that the banner should not be touched by the enemy's hand. Therefore, the cloth was often cut into pieces, which were hidden under clothes or among personal belongings. In exile, such fragments were kept as a shrine. It is this "quarter" of the banner that is presented to your attention. A uniquely rare shrine associated with Russian military history! Guarantee of authenticity.
