Russian Russian bandoliers of this type first appeared in the Russian army during the Russo-Turkish war of 1877-1878. modeled on Turkish counterparts. Later, their officially approved model appeared. By 1914, the troops were supplied with chest infantry bandoliers mod. 1900 for 30 rounds (6 clips). However, already in August 1914 it became clear that it was necessary to increase the number of combat kit worn by a soldier. Therefore, during the war, several samples of bandoliers appeared, designed to carry 60 live rounds in 12 clips, arranged in two rows. At the same time, leather parts (shoulder and auxiliary straps) are used to reduce the cost braid buckles were replaced, brass buckles were varnished with iron, and the body and cover of the bandolier began to be made not only of canvas, but also of a protective-colored cloth impregnated with a waterproof compound. In practice, such bandoliers could be worn both over the left shoulder and on the belt, over the waist belt. Later, the bandolier itself began to be made of tarpaulin.
