Description

Original and extremely rare wall telephone, made famous by the Swedish firm. The phone is in excellent condition and operability of us have not been tested, but judging by the contents, it is quite possible to use and for its intended purpose. Weight about 5 kg. Guarantee of authenticity.

Telephone plant "Russian joint stock company "L. M. Ericsson". The first telephone factory in St. Petersburg was founded by Lars-Magnus Erikovich Erickson, head of the Ericsson, in Stockholm, to carry out the orders of the Main Directorate of posts and telegraphs in 1897, Initially the factory was located on the 20th line IN, then for the company had bought plots in the Vyborg district, and in 1899 began construction. Industrial building was built in several stages: it was originally built five-storey building to eight axes along the Avenue on the corner with Gelsingforsskay St., in the 1910s it was extended at the end of almost three times, in 1914, was built on the sixth mansard floor. Since that time the building has been preserved almost unchanged. The long facade is symmetrical and has two axis vertically staircases, finished gable pediments. The walls are lined with high quality red brick. In early July, 1900, were constructed five-storey and three one-storey buildings of the factory. The equipment, which was delivered from Sweden, took several months. The opening of the factory took place in December 1900 B 1905, the factory became the Swedish society and Russian entrepreneurs under the name "Russian joint-stock company of L. M. Ericsson". Many years Director of the society was the Russian engineer L. I. Stargaze, Professor of the St. Petersburg electrotechnical Institute. With the outbreak of the First world war the factory switched to the manufacture of military equipment. After the October revolution the factory was nationalized and renamed the plant "Red dawn", which has continued to produce telephone equipment.
