Description

In the late XIX – early XX centuries, the officers ' club of the military unit was for the military a kind of club where they could eat out, celebrate the holidays and to spend leisure time with their families, which was especially important for the garrisons of small towns and villages. There was the post master of the officers ' Assembly, which was usually taken by an experienced in economic Affairs officer, had been keeping order and control of economic activity. The 1st battalion was part of 1st army corps (St. Petersburg military district) and in the early twentieth century was in the city of Borovichi, Novgorod province. With its proximity to the capital is quite logical that the order for the officers ' club was placed on one of the Petersburg enterprises. The choice of a particular plant, not the cheapest for its time, due, apparently, the desire to obtain high-quality dishes that would serve the congregation for many years. Despite the simplicity of the finish, it is made with great taste: red and black stripes repeat application of color uniforms, corps of engineers, and finished shading the font of the label "1-th Sapper Batali,he" reminds the encryption on the shoulder straps and epaulets. Porcelain factory Kornilov brothers in St. Petersburg was founded in 1835, his time the factory was very technically advanced enterprise that produces high-quality products and has been repeatedly awarded gold medals at exhibitions. One of his contemporaries wrote: "the porcelain Kornilov, he is nowhere near the porcelain Gardner. It shines and the brightness of the gilding, and pleasantness of forms and selection, and execution of the pictures, but is relatively expensive." During the nineteenth century the company changed several scenes, in 1884, appeared the last sample of the mark in the form of the State emblem with the inscription above: "Unto St.-Petersburg" and the bottom "Kornilov Brothers", the presence of which allows you to define the lower time boundary of the object. Similar crockery from the officers ' meeting has survived in small quantities and is extremely rare, especially complete and in almost perfect condition. It should be noted that the gravy boats and other similar items were ordered high several pieces (usually 2-3 with the stock) for the entire sobrinski set and because a thing is unique in every sense of the word. Height 12 cm, base 15*25 cm Guarantee of authenticity.
