Description

Original and extremely rare snack plate is in excellent collectable condition. Porcelain, decal. The diameter of 190 mm At the end of the XIX – early XX centuries, the officers ' club of the military unit was for the military a kind of club where they could eat out, celebrate the holidays and to spend leisure time with their families, which was especially important for the garrisons of small towns and villages. There was the post master of the officers ' Assembly, which was usually taken by an experienced in economic Affairs officer, had been keeping order and control of economic activity. Each Assembly ordered the dishes, decorated in the corporate colors of the military unit and, as a rule, equipped with appropriate attributes. In this case, the attribute is the monogram of the chief of the 5th Kaluga infantry regiment of the German Emperor and Prussian king Wilhelm I, a personal friend of Emperor Alexander II, who occupied the Prussian throne in 1861, and the Imperial German from the time of the proclamation of the Empire on 17 January 1871 in Versailles. The patronage of the German Emperor was granted the 5th Kaluga infantry regiment a month later, on 17 February 1871, and remained even after the death of the monarch in 1888, despite the obvious hostility of the new Emperor Alexander III to Germany. The plate is decorated with a combination of tape with the name of the regiment and monogram WRI under the Imperial crown surrounded by a Laurel wreath. Detail made with a clear eye on German porcelain of the late XVIII – early XIX century, with the composition completed multi-color – belt and black wreaths, monogram and inscription in red, the crown is Golden. Such a rich performance is atypical for possessing a modest budget of infantry officers ' meetings, which gives the item added value, despite the fact that the plates patronage of the parts nowadays are extremely rare. Recommended!
