The factory was founded in 1869 by merchants Daniil and Philip Perevalov at the confluence of the Khaytinka River with the Belaya River. A qualitative leap in the development of production occurred under Ivan Danilovich Perevalov (1852-1907). He significantly expanded production, purchased cars, and invited specialists. In 1880, Ivan Danilovich, a major collector and industrialist, set up a porcelain museum at his factory, which was based on a family collection of porcelain and earthenware products. By 1917, the museum had about 11,000 exhibits. Part of the museum's collection (198 items) was transferred to the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum in 1939. In 1907, I.D. Perevalov was killed. In 1920, the factory was nationalized.
