Poster "Red Army Anniversary Celebration – Red Gift Day", 1919

An original and extremely rare large-format poster in the Art Nouveau style in very good collector's condition. Duplicated on paper. The author is unknown. The text on the star: "Believe! Victoriously and joyfully believe in the triumph of the Kumachevo world! And you will ascend into the cherished bright door of the sunny new world! Hey, soldier! Be on guard, soldier! Do not close your brave eyes, our guardian, our true brother, have inspired fire hopes!". Size 1050*700 mm. Guarantee of authenticity. 

On February 23, 1919, a holiday was established in honor of the anniversary of the Red Army, which took place on January 28, which was decided to combine with a charity event — the Day of the Red Gift, when the population had to give something to the Red Army. This holiday was scheduled for February 17, but since this number fell on a working day — Monday, we had to wait until the next Sunday. In Pravda, a message appeared about the relocation of the celebration of the anniversary of the Red Army and the All-Russian Red Gift Day on February 23. Then for four years this holiday was forgotten: it was remembered at the IX All-Russian Congress of Soviets about the Red Army in 1922.
