An original and quite rare token in good collector's condition. 84-proof silver, stamped. The weight is 3.7 grams. The size is 23*30 mm. The obverse depicts full-length figures of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul with halos around their heads. In the lower part, there is an inscription in Church Slavonic along the arc: "ST. APOSTLE. PETER AND PAUL." Under the figures of the apostles, the original royal stamps are visible: the silver sample "84" and the initials of the assayer "IK". On the reverse is the inscription "IN MEMORY OF THE 200TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE LIFE GUARDS OF THE KEXHOLM EMPEROR OF THE AUSTRIAN REGIMENT 1710-1910". Rare. Guarantee of authenticity.
The Kexholm regiment was founded by Peter I in 1710 after the capture of the Swedish fortress of Kexholm (now the city of Priozersk in the Leningrad region). For a long time, the chief of the regiment was the Austrian Emperor (Franz Joseph I), which is reflected in the official name of the unit on the badge. Similar silver tokens with the image of Peter and Paul were issued in 1910. They were awarded as a regimental church blessing to the ranks of the Life Guards of the Kexholm Regiment (as well as the 4th Grenadier Regiment of Nesvizh) in memory of their 200th anniversary (1710-1910).
