Silver, stamping. The original and quite rare medal is in good condition. The diameter is 22 mm. Stamp marriage. The obverse of the medal depicts the coat of arms of the Russian Empire, in the center of which is a porphyry topped with a crown. The coat of arms of Poland (single-headed eagle) is depicted on the porphyry. From above, along the side of the medal, there is an inscription along the arc: "BENEFIT, HONOR AND GLORY.". On the reverse side of the medal is a horizontal inscription in five lines: "FOR THE CAPTURE OF WARSAW BY ASSAULT on 25 and 26 AUG 1831." Along the circumference along the rim there are two laurel branches connected by a ribbon. Above is a small Orthodox cross surrounded by radiance. The medal is on the original ribbon. Guarantee of authenticity.
The medal "For the Storming of Warsaw" was intended to be awarded to participants in the storming of Warsaw, which took place from August 25 (September 6) to August 26 (September 7), 1831. The storming of Warsaw was part of the suppression of the long-running Polish uprising. The medal was established by decree of Nicholas I on December 31, 1831 (January 12, 1832). The medal was awarded to military personnel who took part in the storming of Warsaw. Generals, officers, lower ranks, doctors, and priests who served with the troops were awarded. According to a special imperial decree[5], this award could be presented until January 1 (13), 1843. A number of variants of the state coinage are known, differing in diameter and a number of small details. The medal had an eyelet for attaching to the ribbon. The medal should have been worn on the chest. The ribbon of the Polish insignia for military dignity was used, which was included in the system of awards of the Russian Empire to reward soldiers who suppressed the uprising in Poland, and before that was the Polish Order of Virtuti Militari. The color of the ribbon is dark blue, with black edges (the modern ribbon of the Polish Order of Virtuti Militari is slightly different).
