Medal "In memory of the reign of Emperor Alexander III"

The original state commemorative medal awarded to clergymen, military officers and civil servants for their dedicated service during the reign of the penultimate Russian sovereign. The item is in good, honest collector's condition, without restorations and interventions. The medal is made of silver by the method of high-quality artistic stamping of the state coinage. The surface has retained a clear relief of details with minimal traces of use, as well as the noble natural patina of time.

The composition of the obverse is characterized by classical conciseness. In the center is a large, detailed profile portrait of Emperor Alexander III, facing right. The author of this highly artistic bas-relief is the famous St. Petersburg Mint medallist Avraham Grilihes (son). An elegant laurel branch stretches in a semicircle to the left of the portrait — a symbol of glory and state greatness. On the right, along the arc along the edge, there is a strict relief inscription in Church Slavonic script: "IMP. ALEXANDER III".

On the reverse (reverse side) of the medal, under the large imperial crown, the years of the reign are indicated horizontally in two lines: "1881" and "1894", under which a small equilateral cross is placed. The original all-stamped eyelet for attachment to the medal block is preserved in the upper part of the disc. There is a deep multi-year patina on the metal, confirming the solid age and unconditional authenticity of the object.

A historically significant specimen from the end of the 19th century, embodying the era of the "Peacemaker Tsar", which will become a worthy addition to the collection of pre-revolutionary Russian numismatics and imperial phaleristics.
