Original bronze medal in excellent collectible condition. The diameter of 65.5 mm. the Saint-Petersburg mint. Medalist A. F. vasyutyns'ke (without a signature). Gurtovoy with the inscription: "IN MEMORY of the anniversary of the corps of pages STORYTAG HIH CORPS." Clerks 1366.1 (R0).Smirnov 1255. The state of preservation is good. Beautiful antique brown patina. Quite rare. The guarantee of authenticity.
His Imperial Majesty's corps – a privileged military school in St. Petersburg for the training of sons "honored parents" to serve in the retinue of the Emperor and the army guard. Founded in 1759 as an institution for the education of pages and cameras the pages. On 10 October 1802 by decree of Emperor Alexander I converted into a military school by type of cadet corps in accordance with the project of count N. P.Sheremetev and major-General F. I. Klinger. In the corps of pages brought up children and grandchildren mainly persons from the first three classes ("ranking"). Graduated from the page corps enjoyed a preferential right of service in the guard. In 1802-1810 was located on the embankment of the Fontanka river, 6, and then at Vorontsov's Palace (26 Sadovaya street). 19 September 1917, the corps was renamed the Petrograd school. It solemnly celebrated in 1902, the 100th anniversary of the corps of pages was made 50 silver and 2000 bronze medals with inscriptions on the edge.
