An original and rather rare medal in good collector's condition. Silver, stamping. Russian Russian Emperor Alexander III (1881-1894) is depicted on the obverse in profile to the right, with an inscription in Russian around the circumference in the old Russian pre-revolutionary orthography, both in full text and abbreviations "B. M. ALEXANDER III EMPEROR AND AUTOCRAT OF ALL RUSSIA". The initials of the medallist "AG" (Avenir Grilihes) are in the neck trim. Russian Russian inscription around the circumference in the old Russian pre-revolutionary orthography "FOR DILIGENCE" is on the reverse. The set also includes the original moire neck Vladimirovskaya ribbon. The diameter is 51 mm. Guarantee of authenticity.
The medal "For Diligence" was established in 1801 by His Imperial Majesty Alexander Pavlovich (Emperor Alexander I, reigned 1801-1825). The portrait design was developed and executed by the master carver, medallist Vasily Alekseev (years of work 1855-1893). The medal "For Diligence" was awarded to the subjects of the Russian Empire for services rendered to the Russian state on means of diligence. Various social strata of the population fell into this category of awardees, namely: peasants, burghers, retired soldiers who expressed a desire to continue their service after the due date, and others.
