Bronze, stamping. The original medal is in good collector's condition. In the center of the obverse is an Orthodox six-pointed cross surrounded by radiance. There is a defeated crescent moon under the cross, which symbolizes the victory of Christianity over Islam during the conflict. The war years are indicated on the sides: "1877." and "1878." On the other side of the medal is a quote from The Psalter: "NOT TO US, NOT TO US, BUT TO YOUR NAME." Guarantee of authenticity.
On April 17, 1878, by decree of Emperor Alexander II. Depending on the merits and role in the war, the medal was issued in three metal versions.:
