The 1871 Caucasus Medal is a medal of the Russian Empire awarded to the residents of the Caucasus who accompanied Alexander II during his trip to the Caucasus in 1871. The trip to the pacified regions became possible due to the end of the Caucasian War. The medal was established by the decree of Alexander II of September 29 (October 11), 1871. The decree was communicated by the Chairman of the Caucasus Committee to the Minister of Finance, M. H. Reytern. The medal was awarded to the residents of the Caucasus: persons who accompanied Alexander II on the trip, members of the honorary convoy, deputies from the local population who presented themselves to the emperor.
