Description

The original daily military newspaper is in good collector's condition, pollution, tears, losses. The size is 36*52 cm. It was printed in the printing house of the Main Department of the Shire. Saint-Petersburg. We recommend it!

History

It was founded by Pavel Pavlovich Pesarovius for patriotic and charitable purposes: the income was intended for the benefit of the disabled of the Patriotic War, soldiers' widows and orphans. The first issue of the newspaper, the publication of which was taken over by Alexander Ivanovich Plyushar, was published on February 1 / 13, 1813. Pesarovius filled the newspaper almost exclusively with his own articles. By the end of the first month, the editorial office received 2,160 rubles. The news from the theater of war, which Pesarovius, thanks to his censor employee, placed in his office earlier than they appeared in other newspapers, gave the "Russian Invalid" great interest in the eyes of readers; subscriptions increased greatly. Thanks to this, the "Russian Invalid" was a huge success: the funds raised (from subscriptions and donations) gave Pesarovius the opportunity not only to issue assistance, but also to form a special capital, transferred to him in 1815 to the "Committee, most highly established on the 18th day of August 1814" (From December 12, 1877 it became to be called the "Alexander Committee for the Wounded"). At the same time, the newspaper became an affiliation of the committee. P. P. Pesarovius intended to cease his participation in it, but the Highest rescript addressed to him, in which the Sovereign expressed confidence that P. P. Pesarovius "will not cease to continue his useful work", forced him to remain editor.

Since 1816 — the official publication of the "Committee on August 18, 1814" (later the Alexander Committee on the Wounded), since 1862 — the official newspaper of the War Ministry. In 1813-1821, a newspaper in German "Der russische Invalide" was published in St. Petersburg, and in 1817-1821 in Polish "Ruski inwalid czyli wiadomości wojenne".

It was published in 1813 weekly, in 1814-1815 — 2 times a week, from 1816 — daily (in 1869 — 3 times a week). Numerous appendices and additions were published to the "Russian Invalid": in 1822-1826. "News of literature"; in 1831-1839. Literary addition; in 1864-1865. Weekly addition; in 1899-1910. Free literary supplement; in 1905-1906. "The election of the newspaper Russian invalid"; in 1917, an illustrated appendix. From July to October 27, 1917, it was published under the title "Army and Navy of Free Russia".
