This handbook, based on archival sources and museum collections, tells about the establishment, rules for wearing, manufacturing and issuing regimental badges of the Russian Imperial Army, which appeared in Russia in the middle of the XIX century. Fine works of jewelry and decorative and applied art made of gold or silver, tokens were also a valuable historical source, reflecting in miniature the glorious military past of the Russian Imperial Army of the XVIII-XX centuries. The book contains descriptions and drawings of about 300 tokens belonging to regiments and units of the Imperial Guard, army infantry (rifle, grenadier, reserve and fortress), cavalry, artillery regiments and units, military educational institutions - cadet corps, cadet and military schools and others, thematically unrelated to the branches of the armed forces. The time of approval of tokens, the material of manufacture, design features, historical references are given. The book has been significantly supplemented and revised (compared to the 1998 edition) with newly identified archival documents and materials, as well as information gleaned from museum and private collections in Russia and abroad. The book is decorated with authentic photographs of officers and soldiers with badges on their uniforms. A4 format. Used book.
