The album, introducing weapons from the collection of Russian emperors in the Catherine Palace Museum, is the first attempt to systematize the extensive collection of the museum-reserve, one of the most interesting in the St. Petersburg. Weapons at all times have been a reflection not only of the tastes and preferences of a particular era and country, but also of the level of development of decorative and applied art, as well as technological progress at a certain stage of society's development. The collection presented to the reader is also interesting because each of these magnificent works of gunsmithing is associated with the name of one or another member of the imperial family, whose inclinations and hobbies an attentive researcher will be able to discern in them. Many of the items presented also have a very dramatic history of their own. We hope that the first research experience offered to the reader by the staff of the Catherine Palace Museum will attract attention to this wonderful collection. Hardcover, coated paper. The volume is 136 pages. The format is 297*229 mm. Super-cover. Condition – slightly used.
