Roman "L" encryption from the shoulder strap or epaulette of the RIA pilot

The original and quite rare encryption is in excellent condition. In February 1914, the same Roman numerals were established for the ranks of aviation detachments subordinate to the army corps, as for the officers of the corps headquarters. Later, Roman numerals were introduced for army headquarters, but the aviators, judging by the photo, continued to wear the old codes until the end of the war. Brass, silver plating, stamping. The height of the digit is 34 mm. Extremely rare. Guarantee of authenticity.
