Extremely rare paired letters in excellent collector's condition. Bronze, silver plating. Original mustache fastener. The letters "D" on the officers' epaulettes (italic invoices) and on the shoulder straps of the lower ranks (stenciled in yellow paint) of the Don Cossack artillery were introduced on July 2, 1865. In 1875, it was ordered to have the battery number with the letter "D" on the epaulettes and shoulder straps. On July 18, 1880, the numbers were canceled and it was ordered to leave one letter "D", as it was in 1865-1875. The code did not change further, except for the addition of crossed cannons above it in 1909. In the Schenck tables of 1911, officers have exactly such ciphers. It's rare. Guarantee of authenticity.
