The original massive gold ring is in excellent collectible condition. Gold, carnelian. Intaglio, engraving. The weight is 27.1 grams. Size 21 mm. The shield bears the coat of arms of the Finnish noble family-de Besh (a certificate of nobility from 1818; today the family has been suppressed). The ring cover is hinged, conceals a hollow space, presumably for snuff or cocaine. The initials of the owner are cast on the sides of the ring, applied in Cyrillic "GP", which gives reason to assume that the owner was in the Russian service. Indirectly, this is confirmed by the analysis of the names of representatives of this genus. The only one we managed to find suitable by initials is Gerdt Gustav Wilhelm Lambert De Besche, born in 1842 in the family of Pehr Walther De Besche. In the Russian transcription, his name and patronymic would be Gustav Petrovich. According to our data, he served in the Russian Navy and drowned in the Pacific Ocean, falling from the deck of the ship. In any case, it is an excellent example of jewelry art and an interesting subject for further investigation of the fate of its owner. Guarantee of authenticity.
