Brass, gilding. An original and extremely rare cuirass in good collector's condition. Leather fragments and scaly shoulder straps are missing. Without brands. Structurally, the body of the cuirass consists of two elements — a breastplate and a backplate. Minor damage to the perimeter. Guarantee of authenticity. Cavalry guards (from the French cavalier "horseman" + garde "guard") were the Guards heavy cavalry of the Russian Empire, created in the 18th century by reforming special military formations created to serve as the honorary guard of Empress Catherine I. The weapons, equipment, and uniforms were slightly modified cuirassier ones.
