An extremely rare item of uniform of the RIF sailors in satisfactory condition. The attic find has been cleaned and brought into collector's condition by our restorers. Unfortunately, one of the ends of the tape is lost, the second is included. Cloth, fine leather, silk. The classic charter ribbon of one of the legendary ships of the Russian fleet, which died in the Battle of Tsushima, with a golden crowding, has two places of gluing (it was torn). Considering the fact that none of the sailors escaped, the ribbons of this ship are an exceptional rarity. Guarantee of authenticity.
"Emperor Alexander III" is a Russian squadron battleship of the Borodino type. The battleship was laid down by Emperor Nicholas II on the same day with the launching of the cruiser Aurora, on May 11 (24), 1900, in St. Petersburg at the Baltic Plant (chief builder V. H. Offenberg). Launched on July 21 (August 3), 1901. On October 12, 1903, the battleship was commissioned. It is equipped with the ranks of the Guards crew. Enlisted in the 2nd Pacific Squadron, which went to the aid of the 1st Squadron, locked up in Port Arthur. Before sailing, the ship was visited by Nicholas II. On October 2, 1904, the 2nd Squadron moved from Libava on its march across three oceans. The core of the squadron, its first armored detachment, consisted of the same type of squadron battleships — "Prince Suvorov", "Emperor Alexander III", "Borodino" and "Eagle".
The battleship as part of the squadron has passed more than six months of hard, exhausting sailing. On May 13 (26), 1905, he arrived at the Korean Strait. On the afternoon of May 14 (27), he took part in the Battle of Tsushima. After the failure of the flagship battleship, he led a combat column of Russian ships. Soon he himself received serious damage in the bow and moved to the center of the squadron, giving Borodino the place of the head. For the last half hour before his death, he was under concentrated fire from the armored cruisers Nissin and Kasuga. Sank on May 14 (27), 1905 at 18:50. None of the battleship's crew escaped. He was removed from the Navy lists on September 15, 1905.
