In the center of the reverse is an inscription in four lines: "FOR BRAVERY", below is the serial number of the award 665155 (143rd artillery brigade, bombardier Mikhail Vasilyevich Rykov. In the battle on May 25, 1916, being a telephone operator's assistant at the forward observation post, during the attack he personally restored, under heavy enemy fire, the interrupted telephone connection of the battery with the infantry, which achieved a close, almost continuous connection, which was extremely necessary at that time for combat success. 145 p. 4 of the St. George Statute. Order No. 2 of the Army Corps No. 212 dated 07/08/1916) and degree — "4th STEP." This is a state award of the Russian Empire, which was awarded to lower ranks (soldiers and non-commissioned officers), as well as civilians for their courage in combat. Guarantee of authenticity.
The St. George Medal is a medal of the Russian Empire with the inscription "For Bravery", established on August 10, 1913 (instead of the previously established medals "For Bravery" for irregular troops and for border guards) and assigned to the Military Order of St. George the Great Martyr and Victorious. The medal had 4 degrees and was intended for awarding lower ranks (privates and non-commissioned officers) for military services in peacetime and wartime, which were not legally suitable for awarding the George Cross.
