Description

the Russian Empire, 1870s Brass, copper, silvering. The original George pipe in good collection status. The trumpet inscription "For the capture of Kars 6 November 1877». Regimental pipes such simplified design was used in everyday camp life shelf, being a kind of doubles premium pipes, which were stored in regimental Museum. Initially, the pipe had only a trace from the St George cross, which was lost (is shown on the photo), but later this cross was discovered owners and are put us in its original location. Included two original St. George ribbon. In the places of contact belts with metal Nickel scuffed.     • the 3rd Grenadier Perovskom of King Friedrich Wilhelm IV shelf (was awarded 2 pipes with the same label),

    • 1st Poltava Cossack ataman Sidor White horse regiment (2-nd, 3-rd and 4-th hundreds were granted the silver trumpets with the inscription «For the capture of Kars 6 November 1877». The version on the set of pipes that shelf seems to be more preferable for a number of indirect data on the origin of pipes),

    • the 4th grenadiers Nesvizh of field Marshal Prince Barclay de Tolly shelf (had 2 trumpets with the inscription).

    • 40-th artillery brigade (pipes for the capture of Kars 6 January 1879 were awarded both division, 6 batteries)







Relative to other groups that have received similar awards, we know nothing, but you can say that regiments, awarded such pipes, was more than 10.
