Judging by the age of the ensign and new, spick and span outfit, photos of ensign's parents made on the occasion of the production in officer rank. Perhaps the officer has graduated from a crash course in Tiflis military school. The appropriate badge is missing, but it should be remembered that it was only set up on February 27, 1915, and fabrication of signs for private orders were inevitably take some time. One cannot exclude the fact that he graduated from the school of ensigns (such since 1915 began to be established in the spare infantry brigades in connection with catastrophic shortage of officers and the need for accelerated training of the command staff). A very characteristic detail – checker Caucasian sample, and in 1913 assigned to the officers of all units, agencies and institutions of the Caucasian military district instead of checkers omeopatiche sample. The outline of the hilt is similar to the checker pattern in 1904, however, most likely, the piece of arbitrary, private work, as officers in the Caucasus was resolved "not to stick to the established sample checkers on the condition of its purity in the battle against". On the upper part of the handle is tied a lanyard cavalry officers ' type, made of black ribbon with silver arrears. On the top checkers, probably installed the monogram of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II under the Imperial crown, which was a relatively common practice at the time. The location determined by the stamp shop, which clearly reads "... Markaryants Tiflis". Costume mother may be wary to assume that the photo depicts the family of the Tiflis Armenians. The father is dressed in "city" clothes, that allows to judge about the belonging to wealthy citizens. Very atmospheric photo, perfectly conveys the spirit of the age and color of multinational Tiflis. The Cabinet-portrait.
