The photo studio "K.E. von Hahn & Co." worked exclusively for the imperial family. Most of the photographs depicting the life of the imperial family were taken by this company. It was opened in 1891 by Alexander Karlovich Jagielski, who came from Warsaw, together with K.-L.E. Jacobson, nee Gan. The company was named after the owner, who owned the exclusive ownership of the photographic images of Emperor Nicholas II. In 1897, V.I. Yagelskaya became the co-owner of the photo studio, and the privilege of ownership of the photographs of the imperial family passed to A.K. Yagelsky, who in 1911 was awarded the title of "His Majesty's Photographer" by the highest decree. Von Hahn's photo studio was located in Tsarskoye Selo on Shirokaya Street, Bernasconi house, near the train station, since 1891. A. Akhmatova, who lived at that time on an Unnamed Lane crossing Shirokaya Street, recalled: "Opposite (along Shirokaya Street) there was a court photograph of Hahn on the first floor, and the family of the artist Clover lived in the second.". He owned not only a photographic magazine, but was also the founder of cinematography in Tsarskoye Selo. The first cinematography sessions were arranged by him in the hall of the City Hall. A. A. Mosolov (head of the chancellery of the Ministry of the Imperial Court) recalled: "Films shot in a week by the court photographer Yagelsky were viewed on Saturdays (first — a scientific or beautiful view, then a funny tape for children). One film presentation on Saturdays provided food for conversation for a week."
