Alexey Iosifovich Dzichkanets (May 29 (June 10), 1842 — ?) — General of the infantry of the Russian Imperial Army; participant in the Caucasian and Russo-Japanese wars. Father of Lieutenant General Boris Dzichkanets. Alexey Iosifovich Dzichkanets was born on May 29, 1842 in the family of Lieutenant General Osip Gedeonovich Dzichkanets. He was Orthodox by religion. In 1859, he graduated from the 1st Cadet Corps. On June 16 (according to other sources in July), he joined the Russian Imperial Army with the assignment of seniority and the rank of second lieutenant. From 1859 to 1863 he took part in the Caucasian War. On April 28, 1863, he received seniority in the rank of lieutenant with renaming to sub-lieutenants of the Guard, on August 30, 1866, he received seniority in the rank of lieutenant of the Guard, on August 30, 1868, he received seniority in the rank of staff captain of the Guard, on April 14, 1875, he received seniority in the rank of captain of the Guard, on August 30, 1877, he received seniority in the rank of colonel of the Guard. From May 2, 1887 to May 7, 1891, he was the commander of the 147th Infantry Regiment of Samara. In 1891, "for distinction", he was promoted to Major General, with seniority from May 7, 1891. On February 26, 1907, he was promoted to the rank of general of Infantry and dismissed from service.
