Since the beginning of the twentieth century, all studied at the Imperial Military medical Academy, the training period which was five years, divided into two categories: students (two Junior) and students (three senior). The last level of training and the shortage of medical personnel in war time could be used at Junior doctors, although I have not had higher education. According to some reports, the Main military-sanitary management considered this category ranks as a kind of reserve mobilization in wartime. Probably for this reason, on 2 April 1913, the audience of senior (special) courses of the Academy instead of blue cloth shoulder straps of the cadet type were rated silver galonne shoulder straps "are the same as those of Junior doctors (in the rank of titular counselor), but with two silver stars and stripe... a narrow gold galloon, with preservation of Veselinovo image name of Emperor Paul I". The monogram of the Emperor, the founder of the Academy was assigned to the students and trainees a year earlier, in 1912; in the form of everyday they used a protective jacket officer sample with silver buttons. That is the uniform and insignia is shown in the photo listener senior courses. Because these shoulder straps lasted only four years, the photographs, they are extremely rare. The lack of bladed weapons (listeners relied sword on the shoulder the silver sword belt) indicates that the picture was taken in the process of learning – probably in the short period between April, 1913, when it was introduced the data straps, and the beginning of the First world war, when significant numbers of Academy orders, with both permanent and academic staff, were mobilized to the front.
