Spare infantry battalions were formed after the first wave of mobilization in 1914 and had as its objective the preparation of trained reinforcements to the infantry regiments of the army. Three young soldiers, no doubt, has crossed the age of conscription after the war started and so they begin service in the reserve battalion. New uniforms for the most part made already during the war: overcoat color do not have valves, the straps of the corporal sitting on the right side, not sewn, and an optional entered for the uniforms in August 1914, cavalry waist straps too new, not stained and not worn. Protective caps of pre-war tailoring, with colored edgings, introduced in 1913, but made according to patterns, approved in 1914 (the difference – the top is larger than the old caps); a characteristic feature of the fashion of war – field, down to the Prussian style. On the shoulder straps, you can consider double encryption, where the top line ends with the numbers "51"and the lower letter "z.b.". In 1916 the infantry replacement battalions were deployed in regiments, which allows us to date the picture. Postcard format.
